As many of you know, I was in traffic court last week for a "no turn on red" traffic ticket. I saw the video tape, and without going into the specifics of my case (which I will be getting the minutes to share with you!), I want to discuss the process here in NY specifically as it was explained to me in court.
First the judge and DA explained that NYS law states that you must come to a full and complete stop prior to making a right turn on red.
1) IF there is a white stop line on the ground, you must come to a full and complete stop prior to reaching that white line, regardless of where the white line is painted.
2) If there is not whiteline, you must stop prior to any crosswalk markings.
3) If there is no crosswalk you must stop before the intersection, which is described where two roads meet.
My ticket was issues from a red light camera, then the film was reviewed by a technician, who approved me to receive my ticket. Then I pleaded not-guilty and then went to court, where I was then told I was guilty.
I asked the judge to explain what a "full and complete stop meant." He said "complete cessation of movement of the vehicle, even a nano-second."
I replied to him that I didn't understand how the camera can prove that I did not stop for a nano-second, if it does not record more than 10 frames a second. The judge replied to me that there is "NO CAMERA IN EXISTENCE THAT CAN CAPTURE THAT CAN CAPTURE THAT." Yes the court room gasped when he said it.
Needless to say he told me that it doesn't matter that the camera doesn't pick up every moment in time, and that there is no time designation for a "full and complete stop."
It is JUST a RED LIGHT TICKET.
It is JUST THE BEGINNING.
People have to decide to take a stand or not.
I believe that laws are made to protect the safety of the people. A RED LIGHT CAMERA set to ticket drivers based on a "mystery white stop line" that "may or may not" be there, at NO STANDARD POSITION on the street, that captures 10 frames a second, but not every moment in time, can give a ticket to EVERYONE who stops at that intersection because the laws have loop holes that no one wants to fill!
SORRY BUT WHEN YOU REMOVE A PERSON from the ticket process and replace it with a machine, I want a equally technical definition of the law to protect myself and abide by!

I DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD AND YOU DO
I want to hear ALL ABOUT YOUR GOD. I want to know about what you believe and how it impacts your decisions. I do NOT want to be PREACHED TO or CONVERTED. I want to be EXPOSED.
BIBLE BASHERS: I don't know if your parents used the good book as a weapon on you, or if a priest touched you inappropriately. I do not know and I do not care what happened to you in the past. It is the past and YOU CHOOSE to LET IT DEFINE YOU. What I do care about, is who you are today. Who the person sharing my air with me is, and what type of thoughts you are sharing with those you influence.
INDIAN STORY ABOUT TWO WOLVES
An old story I have heard a million times says that each of us has two wolves inside us that are constantly fighting. Then someone asks "who wins" and the answer is "the wolf that you feed."
I reference this story often, and no matter how many times I have shared it, it has always been received well. Meantime, in BIBLE BASHER CAMP, I start to reference a story about Paul and am met with "BIBLE BIBLE BIBLE NO MORE BIBLE!"
There comes a time in our life that we have to accept that THE BIBLE is A BOOK. You cannot deny that it is a book, and people will reference it. There are some fantastic stories in the bible and since so many people are familiar with the book, it provides a great reference point. PEOPLE give OBJECTS VALUE. PEOPLE give MEANING to MATERIAL THINGS.
BIBLE PUSHERS: I read the BIBLE as a book, and if I tell you I am referencing it as a book of fiction, you cannot do anything more than disagree with my assessment and move on. Getting me caught in a debate about what it is or isn't is not showing me the meaning of being a Christian or moving our conversation forward. I however, do NOT want you to CENSOR your language. BE YOURSELF AND BE REAL.
HERE ON G+ you enter ALONE and you are the only one REPRESENTING YOU.
We the people on G+ are ACTIVELY and COLLECTIVELY, FEEDING THE MINDS OF BILLIONS OF PEOPLE on EARTH.
BIBLE BASHERS and BIBLE PUSHERS: You are so polarized that you are the SAME PEOPLE stuck in the SAME ARGUMENTS on DIFFERENT SIDES. Please STOP THE INSANITY! And MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

LIVING WITHOUT THE FB DRAMA
Before G+ I lived on Facebook. I was surrounded by friends and family. Almost all of them posted about parties, planning parties, pictures of what they own, designer greeting cards . . . bad humor and the fear someone would ambush me with something totally not appropriate to be shared online with my extended family.
Then the extended cafeteria drama would go on behind the scenes. Nothing like that morning I woke up to my phone being blown up by a friend who was saying "did you check out Facebook . . . _______ posted pictures of you last night ________." What my friend thought was amusing to post (and it was), I did not think was appropriate Kodak moment.
Facebook is a great place to learn about being on a social network. It is a starter social network, like how Apple makes great starter smartphones and tablets. Apple and Facebook are both closed systems.
When you are interested in putting yourself out there, and sharing the REAL you, come to Google+.

MINI Monday Rant - For those Who think they know Americans
I don't rant too often . . . but this needs to be said to my fellow Americans and to my friends from Earth who think that they know me. I am tired of being drowned in double talk about details that really are irrelevant to topics and issues. A large number of you make discussing any issue (ie healthcare, education, government), pure torture! I continue on because I want to understand where you are coming from, so we can find common ground, but you have no foundation to stand on. You Americans have the right to vote and collectively change things, very easily, and you don't! Those of you who opted out of the last vote, gave up your say, and cannot BLAME ANYONE but yourself for the issues at hand. You dodged the process, and thus the process fails!
I am often met with wishy washy statements, that say well, "that isn't fair" or "that is sad that people feel that way," yet they do not express any statements that moves us toward a solution. Many Americans are changing right now. All over the country and around the world. Americans are deciding if we want to live out the rest of our lives this way, or if we want to change it. We the people have the power and control to change it. We have the technology to do it too.
You people who assume that I want a life filled with material things . . . you are wrong. Those of you who think that I feel the American way is the only way, and I want to push our model of government on you . . . WELL YOU ARE SMURFING NUTS!!! Why would I ever want to push this defunked government on anyone else???
Those of you who are, overly sensitive, looking for a fight, want to just point fingers. . . you all need to GROW UP or OPT OUT. If you want to be in a world where everything is equal and all things are done for you . . . the US Prison system seems to be a great option.
If you want to tell me about equality, then first tell me exactly what equality means. Who decides what is equal? How are you going to enforce your policies?
If you are going to say that all children deserve the same education, then tell me how you are going to make it happen.
Does the good of the many out weigh the needs of the few?
Even basic questions like, at what point is a human created, and at what point do they receive rights . . . isn't a topic that any people are talking about.
If we can't even define what a human is and what rights humans have, at which point those rights are taken away, and who gets to decide. . . well you really can't talk about anything then. . .

EARTH TECHNICIANS - A New World to Share with Our Children
It is time to change the way we think. It is time to stop saying that we want to LEAVE a better world for our children, and start to think we want a better world NOW to SHARE with our children.
As I immerse myself in Google+ each day I am realizing that I am changing from my friends. I am different, because I am experiencing communication with so many different people at a much higher rate than any non-G+er. It is equivalent to taking a crash course in communications, tech, science, politics and religion all at one time. Summer camp is possibly the best example. You go to camp one way, and at the end you know you are a little different. The relationships you made changed you, for better or worse, but changed all the same.
My friends don't understand Google+ and the POWER that the PEOPLE on it are giving it. Just like the Bible, it is NOT the BOOK that gives it the power, it is the people. Google+ is developing its own culture. We have our own virtual society. You are in it right now reading this. You may have been following me for a while, never spoken to me, or maybe you just happened across this post through a share, but here are my thoughts left open for you. I throw it out there, prepared to be ridiculed, challenged and hopefully understood by both those who agree and those who disagree with my posts.
There is a new culture emerging all over the world. Social Media is our global consciousness. As I connect with more of you from around Earth, I realize we are essentially the same. Many of us are on the same journey striving to be the most COMPLETE human we can be. Balanced in areas of the mind and the body. No longer trying to understand the AFTERLIFE, but actively working on THIS LIFE.
Our eyes are open. Some of us believe in GOD with every ounce of our being, while others of us believe that humans are the ALPHA and the OMEGA. We can collaborate on projects and produce win win situations. Then we can retire to our private spaces and live our very individual present.
I am an EARTH TECHNICIAN! I live and breath technology because I know that it is the key to world peace and my own inner peace. I explore my mind and my body and also explore the world around at a much more efficient rate than I ever could as a child. Gone are the days when I must run to the library to research a subject in books that have no quality control on them. On Google+ we QA each other. We fact check posts, and we call each other out on our posts! This is not BAD. This is GOOD. We are challenging the way each of us thinks, and discovering NEW ANSWERS to AGE OLD QUESTIONS.
Earth Technicians are those of us who are riding the tech wave, and use it in every part of our life so we can make our lives easier. While others enjoy their life just as it is and do not want change or evolution. We the Earth Technicians want to do less AND produce more.
Technology lets me produce more. Take something so simple like people who enter orders at a desk. How many times have you heard about people who are sitting waiting for their computers to catch up. These people are skilled in using the devices, and are processing faster than their device. They just need a simple ram upgrade!
My fellow Earth Technicians, we are a New Light Age. We are the future NOW. We are accessing information faster than we imagined possible. We aren't dying as soon as we all expected. We are living younger lives for much longer. The flower children are still around and vibrantly living their lives. Shall we ask them what failed? Why no one gave peace a chance? Maybe they didn't have the technology to support their goals. Maybe their message was diluted or misrepresented by media?
My "prime directive" as an Earth Technician is "WORLD PEACE."
HOW DO WE GET THERE
Like many of you, I believe we have to start at home. In our everyday lives, we live a peaceful live (excluding rush hour). Then we extend this peace to our neighbors, and our community. Through the G+ Network I know that there are other people on Earth who are Earth Technicians like me! I hope they are working on peace in their corner of the world too.
WE CAN DO MORE
With open social media networks like G+, we can unite like minded people, and have organized movements. When we move as a group, we can make our presence known. Look at the power of the flash mob! You can't get 10 neighbors to show up at a town hall meeting, but several thousands of strangers who have never met before can learn a routine, and show up at the same time to preform it. Technology unites us and makes us strong.
FORGET ABOUT THE PAST
I was always taught to respect the past, and tradition. We learn from the past. We don't want to make the same mistakes over and over again. Yet, that seems to be all we do. It is time to LET GO. I know this is not easy. We need to format our minds. We need to start fresh all over the world.
I CAN NOT UNSEE THAT
Now that I have made friends from all over Earth, and see the vision of one Earth, one race, one love . . . I WILL NOT turn away from it. The Earth is my front yard and my back yard. You can not HIDE from HUMAN RESPONSIBILITY behind your FLAGS!
THOUGHT
Given these facts: I am what I feed my mind and I am what I feed my body.
If I feed myself bad things, I will be bad.
If I feed myself good things, I will be good.
If we feed the world bad things, it will be bad,
If we feed the world good thing, it will be good.
